What is Parent Support?

Parenting and caregiving can be deeply rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming, uncertain, and at times isolating. Support sessions provide a reflective and collaborative space where you can pause, be heard, and explore new perspectives. The aim is not to offer a one-size-fits-all approach, but to work alongside you to strengthen relationships, build confidence, and create space for greater connection within your family.

“Children require guidance and time, but above all, they require our full presence and empathy.”

-Dr Tina Payne Bryson

Collaborating with Parents

Parent and carer support can be especially helpful if you are:

  • Feeling overwhelmed or uncertain in your role

  • Managing family transitions such as separation, divorce, or relocation

  • Supporting a child with anxiety, grief, or behavioural challenges

  • Struggling with boundaries, routines, or emotional regulation at home

  • Wanting to build confidence and connection in parenting

  • Seeking support as a foster carer, kinship carer, or adoptive parent

  • Navigating parenting while living abroad or in a cross-cultural context

In a reflective and supportive space, parents can:

  • Feel heard and understood without judgement

  • Gain practical strategies grounded in evidence-based approaches

  • Strengthen confidence in their parenting or caregiving role

  • Deepen empathy and connection with their child

  • Explore healthier boundaries and family dynamics

  • Discover new ways of responding that align with their values

  • Process the emotional and relational impact of living abroad or raising children across cultures

Foundations for Growth and Connection

    Understanding Children

Gaining a deeper understanding of child development helps you respond to your child’s behaviours and emotions with greater confidence and compassion. Insights from interpersonal neurobiology highlight how secure attachments and nurturing relationships foster resilience and wellbeing. By integrating these principles, you can strengthen your bond, support healthy growth, and nurture your child’s emotional intelligence.

    Co-Regulating

Co-regulation empowers you to support your child in managing emotions with calm and attuned guidance. Together we’ll explore strategies that encourage responsive parenting, foster open communication about feelings, and model healthy emotional expression. These tools can transform challenging moments into opportunities for growth and connection, while strengthening your confidence in supporting your child.

    Reflective Parenting

A reflective approach builds self-awareness, helping you understand how your own experiences and patterns shape the way you respond to your child. By cultivating mindfulness and reflection, you can deepen connection, respond with greater thoughtfulness, and support your child’s emotional wellbeing. In a supportive, non-judgemental space, you can explore challenges, develop reflective practices, and strengthen family relationships in ways that nurture resilience, compassion, and growth.

    Finding Balance

Parenting involves balancing structure, independence, and secure boundaries — each essential for healthy development. Encouraging independence helps children build confidence and self-reliance, while consistent boundaries provide the safety and guidance they need to thrive. Together, we’ll explore strategies to create a home environment where your child feels secure, valued, and empowered, giving both of you space to grow with confidence and trust.

About

I believe parents and carers are the true experts on their children. My role is to listen, reflect, and collaborate; offering guidance and strategies that help you feel more grounded, confident, and supported.

When working with parents and carers, I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including Positive Discipline, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Nonviolent Resistance, and Theraplay®. These provide a flexible toolkit of strategies while respecting the uniqueness of every family.

To maintain clarity and best practice, I do not provide both play therapy for a child and parent support for their parent or carer. If your family would benefit from both, I can recommend trusted colleagues so that everyone receives the support they need.

Alongside families in the UK, I also work with international and globally mobile parents based in Europe or the Middle East, offering a consistent and reflective space for support.

  • Yes, I offer online sessions for parents and carers living in Europe or the Middle East, provided we’re within a 4-hour time zone difference from the UK. If you're parenting abroad and looking for support, you’re very welcome here.

Online sessions are delivered via a secure video platform and are available to clients across the UK and internationally, with flexible scheduling across different time zones.

  • The number of sessions depends on what feels right for you and what you’d like to achieve. Some parents find a few sessions sufficient, while others prefer ongoing support. We can decide together what is most supportive for you.

  • Every session is a safe and supportive space where we focus on what matters most to you and your family. We begin by talking about your concerns, goals, and any immediate challenges. Together we explore practical strategies, tools, and reflections to help you feel more confident and supported. Sessions are collaborative, relaxed, and guided by your needs. There is no pressure, only space for openness and understanding. Sessions are reflective and collaborative. You are invited to share what feels most pressing, and together we explore new perspectives, strategies, and ways of strengthening connection within your family.

  • To book a session, please start by submitting an initial enquiry with a brief outline of what you’re seeking support for. I will email you back as soon as I can — usually within 2–4 business days. From there, I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can talk more, answer any questions, and see whether I’m the right fit to support you.

  • Parent and carer support focuses specifically on your role and relationship with your child, rather than on broader personal issues. The aim is to strengthen confidence, connection, and clarity in your parenting or caregiving role.

  • Yes, but not with me directly. To maintain clear boundaries, I cannot provide both play therapy for a child and support sessions for their parent or carer. If your family would benefit from both, I can recommend trusted colleagues so that each of you receives the support you need.
